My weakness, His strength – 2015.06.22

He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12.9
That is a wonderful word of Jesus for me this morning! More and more often I come to my limits and can no longer do it alone. Before, I was strong and did what I wanted. Now I have to listen to the Lord and just do what he says; – It extends the power. But if I go my own way and absolutely want to make my will come true, I come quickly to my limits. But this is actually redemption and liberation, because my own paths lead mostly ineffectively.
He is my strength! It enables me to do His work. And he helps and removes obstacles. He helps me to look, if I’ve lost something. He reminds me when I forget something. Not always immediately and automatically, but I can rely on him: What is important, how does He think. He gives me every morning new courage and hope. Even in deadlocked situations and difficult moments He stands at my side; that’s a good feeling!
He brings me peace and serenity. I can be happy about little things. I am grateful that so many things he does for me. His peace reigns in my heart also in the storm. Yes, He is the Lord, not me.
I can trust him. He is the Good Shepherd, who sent me into green pastures and beside the still waters.
In all situations he is with me and keeps his hand over me.
This verse does not mean my weakness against sin and seduction. I’m supposed to be strong. And if I am fleeing to Him, then I’m really strong, even against every temptation and sin. And if I’m weak once, and succumb to temptation, he accepts me yet again and forgives me. He’s a wonderful Lord!
Thank you, Jesus, in you I do not need to be strong. You know me through and through, anyway, I do not need to be an actor and or to pretend. With you I need no mask and no facade. Thank you that you say yes to me, even though I’m just a weak man. Thank you, you’re with me and help me always. How great that you’re there !!
