But I am not really alone, because the Father is with me.
John 16, 32
Our little ones feel very safe and brave when the big brother or dad is there. Since they can risk something! But when they are alone, then this courage is quite small. It’s the same with us adults too. Alone, you have to be careful. When I was at the dentist once, it happened to me like the most: sweats and pitiful fear for my life. And then I hear His voice in my heart: I will never leave you alone. This has really comforted and encouraged me at this time. I’m still afraid of dentists, but now my Lord is always with me.
Jesus knew that His beloved disciples flee, if he is arrested. But he didn’t had to go through this struggle alone, through these interrogations and the crucifixion. His heavenly Father always was by His side, very close to Him. He will strengthen and hold Him.
And the same applies to us: God, our Heavenly Father, is very, very close to us and will not let us out of His sight. Let us pray to God that His Holy Spirit teaches us to feel and hear Him. Then this song is also for us: Behold, I have commanded you, that you are strong and courageous! Therefore do not be afraid, for I am with you.
Thank You, Father, for always being with me. You lovingly hold Your hands above me. You surround me on all sides. This day is in Your mighty hand and You will accompany me, protect me and help me. I thank You!
