Out of the depth! – 2015.01.28
"Out of the depth I cry to you, O Lord;
O Lord, hear my voice.
Let Your ears be attentive
to my cry for mercy."
Psalm 130: 1+2
"In my distress I called to the Lord and He answered me. From the depths of the grave I called for help, and you listen to my cry. You hurled me into the deep, into the very heart of the seas, and the currents swirled about me; all your waves and breakers swept over me. I said, I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple. The engulfing waters threatened me, the deep surrounded me; seaweed was wrapped around my head. To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you brought my life up from the pit, O Lord my God. When my life was ebbing away, I remembered you, Lord and my prayer rose to You, to your holy temple.Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs. But I , with a song of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. Salvation comes from the Lord."
The prophet Jonas was more dead than alive when he prayed above words. God is anwsering prayers! Prayers from the deepest depths are always reaching God. Words from the bottom of your heart are creating wonders. He cannot but answer. Really, the prayer of a broken-hearted wretch penetrates through the clouds to the heart of God. Some prayers are like baloons filled with gas. They look nice and rise into the air, however, winds will blow them away and somwhere they will fall down. The prayers were not filled with true faith but with empty nice words only. Some prayers are like baloons which are fastened. They cannot rise up. Our unbelief is binding them.
However, the prayer of a needy will get to the throne of God who will stretch out His hands for help.
Thank you, Father, You are hearing all prayers. Nothing is hidden before You. Yes, before I cry, You are acting. Your love and care is greater than I can comprehend. You always are showing me a way, always are my Counselor and Saviour! It is good to be Your child!
