Perpetually Praying – 2015.11.24

Pray continually! 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful! Colossians 4:2
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Ephesians 6:18
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer!
Romans 12:12
Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. Luke 18:1

Jesus is fighting for us! He wrenched us from the enemy; which is not allowed to triumph over us. He pulled us out of the darkness and put us into His light. He filled us with His Spirit and overcame the spirit of the world, the spirit of sorrow, and the spirit of our ego. He gave us those instructions so it will stay this way and we won’t be pulled back by sin, death, corruption, darkness, resignation, and depression. It’s not a new necessity and not a new law we have to keep, but only the concern Jesus has for us.
How should we do that? Sometimes we have to sleep or work… We can’t kneel and pray the whole day. But Jesus made sure we could keep this command with ease: he gave us His Spirit.
A good couple always exchanges views and is close to each other even if they are apart. At night they huddle together and they love and respect each other. Our prayer and our relationship to Jesus should be just like that: talking about everything, in constant contact, sometimes intensive but at other times just silent companionship.
Children grow well under the protection of a good marriage. In the atmosphere of mutual love, friendliness, and respect children can learn trust and they can live securely. Just like that, under the protection of constant prayer we can become a blessing to others. If we are one with Jesus others will get space in our life: in our hearts and in our prayer, generally in our daily life. And they will feel welcome, secure, accepted, and valued. And than, it’s just a small step for them to come to Jesus.

Jesus, yes I want to be in contact the whole day. Your blessing can flow endlessly! Please, give me more of Your Spirit so I can talk with you and listen to Your word the whole day!
