Power and authority – 2015.01.03

The people were utterly amazed at his teaching, because he was teaching them like one with authority, and not like their scribes.
Mark 1, 22
Teaching" from Jesus is more than just exchange of dry information. His word is the life! HE proclaims the truth from God with word and deed. It reaches the heart of a man and changes it. HE shows the truth through deeds. Where HE speaks God’s Spirit works and draws people into God’s presence.
It is amazing how Jesus lived and served. We read many small notices about it in Gospel of Mark.
1, 27: All the people were so stunned that they kept saying to each other, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He tells even the unclean spirits what to do, and they obey him!”

1, 32-33: People started bringing to him everyone who was sick or possessed by demons. In fact, the whole city gathered at the door. He healed many who were sick with various diseases and drove out many demons.
1, 35: In the morning, while it was still very dark, Jesus got up and went to a deserted place and prayed there.
1, 45: When the man left, he began to proclaim it freely. He spread the news so widely that Jesus could no longer enter a town openly, but had to stay out in deserted places. Still, people kept coming to him from everywhere.
3, 10: Because he had healed so many people that everyone who had diseases kept crowding up against him in order to touch him.
It continues like that further and didn’t stop until today! Where Jesus preached there Holy Spirit proofs the truth and witnesses it through sign. The word of Jesus creates new life, hope, courage, healing, freedom, joy, forgiveness, … it is really living word.
Let God’s word to touch you, open your heart and stop to doubt and question everything. Trust in Him and His word! When HE speaks to your heart hold it firm, write it down and prevent it from doubt, forgetfulness and disbelief. HE keeps promises!
Thank you, Jesus, You speak today just as back then. Your word is my comfort, hope, joy and power. Yes, I would like You to speak to my heart because Your word creates new life. You have the power to renew and to use my life meaningfully. You have everything my heart needs. You are the One who carries all the universe through your word; You carry me in Your strong hands too.
