Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his Temple!
Praise his strength in heaven!
Praise him for the mighty things he has done.
Praise his supreme greatness.
Praise him with trumpets.
Praise him with harps and lyres.
Praise him with drums and dancing.
Praise him with harps and flutes.
Praise him with cymbals.
Praise him with loud cymbals.
Praise the Lord, all living creatures!
Praise the Lord!
Psalms 150
So it should be: All living creatures are supposed to praise the Lord. For He indeed has done wonderful things! He has saved us and adopted us as His children. He has cleansed us from all sin. He has put His Spirit in our hearts. He will save us from death. He is the great liberator!
When I think of the World Cup, I become kind of “jealous”. How loudly is the winner cheering, dancing and singing! So much noise and rumpus, – all are a little crazy. And this is just football… How will it look and sound when God’s children greet their Lord? Can you imagine this joy and jubilation?! We have every reason to celebrate Him. Even if we do not see it in our own lives right now, we can praise His greatness and see His work in the lives of others and in His creation. Then our heart will start to cheer as well. Then God’s hope and his joy will re-fill our hearts. For he truly is the Lord.
Today we want to cheer for Him and sing songs of praise in our hearts, loud or quiet. He responds to our thanks and is where you praise Him. He is the Father who loves His children. And when the children confidently turn to Him, can He disappoint them? Can His heart stay hard and cold? No, He is pleased about His people when it comes to Him full of thanks and cheering.
Thank You, Father in heaven, I really have a reason to be happy! Because You’re there, very close to me. You are the God who works wonders. You have chosen me as Your child and I may come to You with confidence, trust and joy. Where is a God like You?
