Really praying — 2016.03.11

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
Romans 8,26f

The Spirit is always the Holy Spirit of God. HE helps us when we pray! Because we do not always know about what, how and for what we should be praying. But HE knows. HE is our Helper, also when we are praying.
When the earth was created, the Holy Spirit hovered over the waters and "hatched" the creation so that it was in accordance with God’s concept. HE forms and shapes it.
The Spirit of God came over the disciples at Pentecost, and they started speaking in foreign languages, which the Spirit gave them. Many Christians experience this prayer language and find it very helpful during prayer. Others don’t have a prayer language, but pray just as earnestly. In years gone by, there have been tremendous battles amongst Christians regarding this matter. One thought the other was on the way to hell, and vice versa.
We want to fill up these trenches through mutual forgiveness and reconciliation! And especially we do not want to dig new trenches amongst Christians.
Before I had a prayer language, I prayed long and earnestly. Had anyone told me then that I was not yet a true Christian, I would have been extremely hurt. Now I enjoy praying in foreign languages. Some people are horrified by this and try to explain, citing the Bible, why this cannot be right. When, in solitude, I reference their interpretation of the Bible, I come to the conclusion that their interpretation is full of fantasy, nowhere is it stated as such in the Bible; – and I become even more convinced in my opinion.
We want to keep it that way, as God shows it to us: some are good Christians and Prayers, and others are just as good Christians and Prayers. There are "losers" on both sides – people who do not glorify God. But that is no reason to reject all and everyone. We want to extend a hand of peace, and stop focusing on the differences!
Thank you, Jesus, you give us your Holy Spirit, the Helper and Comforter. He helps us with our prayers, because we do not always know how to pray correctly, and what we should really be praying for. We want to listen to Your Spirit, how He leads us in prayer and life. You care soooo much for us!
