Savior is here! – 2014.12.25
I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
Luke 2,10-11.
It was a great celebration today 2000 years ago. The heavens were open and shepherds could see how angels sang, praised God and celebrated Him! Peace on earth – this was their wish, and finally it happened: Savior and Redeemer is born! The Lord is here at last!
What would happen if Jesus didn’t come? Then horror and violence would continue to rule. But HE is here – the Lord, Messiah, Redeemer and Savior! HE points the way against injustice and HE will carry through his justice here.
What would happen if Jesus didn’t come for us? Then we would know nothing of God nor of hope, nor of light. We would have to live in our guilt and darkness. Yes, it is really big joy which embraces heaven and earth: Redeemer is here!
When Noah finished to build his ark there was a great celebration as well. He worked on the ark long months: so it was done, the ark was there. Salvation could begin. And everybody who stepped into the ark were saved. How glad they were!
And for us Jesus is there. HE is our ark. We are completely save in Him, even if the world will perish.
The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. – We want to do it as well! We want to be filled with joy about God’s work and about our Redeemer and Savior! We want to praise Him and thank Him! Because everything is the way HE says.
Thank you, Jesus, You are here! Heaven is open for me! Yes, I hold myself on you – you are my ark. You are my Savior and Redeemer in every situation, in every sense and in every time. Yes, my Savior is here!
