Sorrow turns to joy – 2017.02.07

You have turned my wailing into dancing;
you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,
that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent.
Lord, I will praise you forever.
Psalm 30,11f
The greater the deliverance and the redemption, the greater our praise.  He who has been in death’s grip and has prayed for and been granted deliverance, will never forget it;  he is grateful for all eternity.
God does not redeem us for only a single day, or for a single matter, but His redemption is ongoing, because He loves us and has already done so much for us.  But, if we are quick to forget  and try to write off this redemption as a matter of fate, not giving God His due, then it becomes difficult for Him.  When we believe we owe God nothing and are not bound to Him… that is a sad day for us.
He who has walked a long way in search of the truth, God, love and the harmony of creation, finally finding Jesus, is full of joy.  He can jump for joy and dance, because he has reached his destination.
He who comes to Jesus will not be scorned, turned away or cast out.  He takes him in His arms, treats the wounds and hearts, comforts, encourages, shows new ways and destinations.  His work in our hearts is so wonderful that joy conquers all sorrow.  It is He who creates this joy in us;- let it go its way, without standing in its way!
Yes, He is the great “converter”.  Crying is converted to dance, sorrow to joy, loneliness to peace, self hatred to mercy for others.  Let us allow Him to work in our hearts, let us leave our burdens with Him, let us walk on Jesus’ path directly to the Father!
And if we are at this moment lonely and desperate, guilt ridden and despondent, let us tell Him His promise:  You have turned my wailing into dancing, you clothe me with joy!  – please, Lord, let Your words become truth in me!
If we stop clinging to our worries, He can make good on His promise.  Be free, happy, filled with peace and joy over His redemption!
Thank You Father, for being such a wonderful God, for being so caring with Your children!  Thank You, You take away my sorrows, I have no need for them anymore.  In exchange You give me Your joy in my heart, because I have much, much reason for joy!  You are there, around me and above me, helping me, comforting me, encouraging me!  You conquer the enemy and everything that makes my life difficult.  Thank You, thank You and once more thank You,  forever and ever!
Bible study for today:  Genesis 17
