Strong and Courageous – 2015.08.24

… As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and courageous.
Joshua 1:5-6
Joshua had to do a big task, so God encouraged him beforehand. Everyone knew how close Moses has been to God. Moses could chat with God and He would listen to Moses. God would share everything with Moses and even tell him divine secrets. The history of Moses is the story of God with his people. Just Like that, Joshua is supposed to be.
We have these big tasks as well. Even this day is a challenge. There is always work to do, we have to bear responsibility and make decisions. But God encourages us just the same: “Just like I have been with Moses i will be with you." Of cause, we will make mistakes, but our God will still be with us. We should only listen to Him, that is important. Moses took some time and went into the tent of the Holy of Holies. There he told God all his questions and problems. We can become silent and go before the throne of mercy. There we can talk to Jesus and wait for his decisions. Together with him we can make decisions and take over responsibility. And if things do not go as planed and we make mistakes Jesus will tell us: “I will not let you down and I will not leave you." His love and his goodwill does not dependent on our achievements, not on our faith, not even on our good manners or our education. He leads us through if we feel down. He does not drop us if we feel ashamed and inferior. He just repeats again and again: “Be Strong and Courageous! Because I am with you! I will not let you down and I will not leave you. Even when you make mistakes I am with you. You are save in my arms. With me you can walk courageously forward! Even if you are weak, together with me you are strong!"
Thank You father, for these kind words! You give me courage! There is so much work to do and so much responsibility to bear – how could i do this alone? But You are with me with your council and your strength. You pave the way. Together with You i am really strong and i can move forward with courage!
