Take heart and be strong! – 2015.06.10

Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.
Psalm 27:14
King David was quite a normal person. His privilege was that he already found God as a young man. Alone with the sheeps he had time enough to get to know God and to talk with Him. He experienced Him as the Creator and King but also as a Helper and Friend. His believe in God grew with every difficulty for God helped him out of every trouble. Gods blessing was about his life because he trusted Him strongly.
With above words David is encouraging us. His life experience tells us: Be brave and wait for the Lord! Be strong! Discouragement and fear should not overwhelm you! He is there, very close to you!
Certainly David had more problems than us. But in all cases the Lord helped him. The psalm 27 begins therefore as follows: The Lord is my light and my salvation: whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life: of whom I shall be afraid? When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though a army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.
In addition David tells us how strongly he seeks the Lord, how great his desire is to be in God
s presence. He imparts us how safe he is in Him and how the Lord freed him always from every adversity. If father and mother leave him, the Lord is welcoming him. When false witnesses rise up against him, oppose him, the Lord will be his confidence. Yes, he will trust in God and knows that He leads him everywhere. He is not without mistakes but he is certain that God forgives him. This powerful and proven faith I wish for me and everyone. We have to decide whether we trust God and wait for Him, or whether we look for solutions by ourselves, fight for ourselves. He wants to be our counselor telling us in silence how we should act. Before acting in haste we should seek His Face and ask Him for advice. He honors our trust which we put in Him. After all we are His children.

Thank you, Father in Heaven, You hear my prayer! You now my questions and doubts. I always can ask you for advices and help for You are not a silent and a far-off God. You are close to me and help. I rely on You. Yes, I wait for You, I am strong as you are embolding me.
