The beloved bride – 2015.09.21

That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
Ephesians 5:27

I had a friend once, when he found a girlfriend he told me how great and beautiful she is. Judging by his words she had to be a beauty queen – a true princess. But when I met her I was a bit disappointed since she was more of the opposite of what he described her…
And still, he was right. In his eyes she was just the way he described her. They married and he still speaks highly of her.
It all depends on the point of view. When I love something it is great. When I do not care about something I do not even notice it. And if I do not like something I see all possible faults.
What is the way Jesus looks upon us? He looks upon us in the way of love, like a groom looks upon his bride – everything is great and beautiful. He knows our sin and our shortcomings, but still He finds joy with us. With His blood He erases all bad and hides it with his coat of love. Already in His eyes His church and His people are stainless and without crinkles, just holy and perfect.
Since we love Jesus we pay attention to live our lives the way He likes it. My friends beloved bride did everything to look beautiful. She put on her jewelry and makeup and she wore her best dress. And when she saw my friend she started to beam with joy. Truly, we are supposed to meet Jesus like that: adorned, clean, holy, and full of the spirit of joy! Because we love Him and his presents. We should not taint our relationship to our beloved with small, "harmless" sins.
We should sing for Him and be joyful for Him. Because His love for us is limitless. He wishes us all the best. Even if we are not perfect He will do it! He will prepare His bride in a way that he will not find any flaws: holy and perfect. He will finish his work with us and with His church.

Thank You Jesus, for Your limitless love. I am not really perfect the way You want. But Your Holy Spirit will work on me and finish the process. On the day of the wedding when You take us from earth, we will be transformed in a awesome bride: without flaw or crinkles, but holy and perfect! Already I can look forward to that! I love You, Jesus!
