Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in Him!
Jeremiah 17:7

This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will see no prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of draught and never fails to bear fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:5-8)
It is up to the people, one has the choice: to trust God or someone else. The curse for the godless is terrible! The blessing for the man of God is endless and overflowing. In Gods hand is blessing and curse. Some people think they can do what they want if God does not intervene and act immediately. There seems to be freedom for fools. But dont be trapped, their hearts are empty without love. They may have fun, have an attractive lifestyle, but at night they are alone and there is no hope for them in times of trouble. You then certainly do not want to be like them.
The blessed of the Lord seems to be powerless at first. People often jokes over him. It seems that they can do everything with him, lying to him, cheating, stealing, doing him down. But God`s blessing is over him, he can forgive. The peace in him is untouchable. God stands by him, supports him and gives back what has been taken from him. The joy of the Lord, the fullness of His presence, His closeness, the happiness of being with Him, nobody else can give that all.
God does not forget us. He loves His children and cares for them. In every situation we are in good hands with Him. But people who do not know God are lost, have no comfort in their grief. He can hide his loneliness by singing nice songs. But suddenly everything is over. God is righteous, a sincere Judge. Do not be deluded by His patience.

Thank You, Jesus, You saved me from a godless life. You gave me fellowship with You, I can talk with You and feel Your love. I am always secure in You. You snatched me from a aimless and senseless life. Thank You again!
