The Cedars of Lebanon – 2014.11.16

The Lord’s voice breaks cedar trees —
yes, the Lord shatters the cedars of Lebanon.
Psalms 29:6

The Lord’s voice is strong; the Lord’s voice is majestic. The Lord’s voice breaks cedar trees – yes, the Lord shatters the cedars of Lebanon. He makes Lebanon jump around like a young bull, makes Sirion jump around like a young wild ox. The Lord’s voice unleashes fiery flames; the Lord’s voice shakes the wilderness – yes, the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
The Lord’s voice convulses the oaks, strips the forests bare, but in his temple everyone shouts, “Glory!”
How much do we want the presence of God! We go to worship and feel comfortable. We want to warm ourselves by the fire of God’s Spirit and receive strength. But the Lord wants much, much more! He wants that we only burn for Him and are a part of that fire.
We desire that the Lord creates peace and justice and that His mighty voice shatters the enemy, destroyer, liar and murderer. But God wants something else: He wants that we ourselves are the voice of God and that we stand up for Him.
In every revival, God is acting very powerful; – There are many signs and wonders. An exuberant, heartfelt worship through oversizes joy and exuberance accompanies revivals. But the path there leads through devotion to the Lord who has done everything for us. He shall shatter our own pride and our big ego like His voice breaks cedar trees. When we realize our own sins, our pride disappears. Then we can only ask or deliverance from our miserable lives. And when we then experience the liberation by God, the divine joy makes its way! Then we can feel revival! Then God reigns! – At least in one heart. And if you completely give yourself to Jesus, the fire of grace will spread and put others on fire! Revival begins quite to the bottom; – That God becomes the greater to us.

Yes, Lord, let Your voice resound so that it shatters my pride and my big fat ego. With Your grace You are waiting for me, to redeem me completely and fill with me with Your good spirit. Nowhere is abundant life, overflowing joy and peace, deep as an ocean – only with You Lord, I want You!
