The Commandment of Jesus — 2015.12.12

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Remain in my love!
John 15, 9
If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other. (Verses 10-17)

Jesus’ love is so incomprehensibly high, I cannot understand it. He loves us! He calls us His friends! He intends to meet everything that we ask him! He shares with us all the divine mysteries! It ensures that we bring forth fruit, and that this fruit should remain; – A meaningful life! He wants to fill us with heavenly joy! Amazing how much Jesus appreciates us, loves and wants to be with us.
And we? How do we sometimes talk about our brothers and sisters who so very much love the Lord?
He calls us friends, for which He gives His life. This love should characterize us and we are to love our brothers and sisters with the same love as Jesus does. Because it is so difficult for us, that’s why Jesus says it again and again: love one another; Love does not harm others! It wants only the best for the others, it encourages him, honours him, serves him … Look at Jesus’ love for you and do so to your fellow people. Then you have fulfilled the commandment of Jesus, and he gives you heavenly joy, and he makes sure that you bring your fruit and fruit that lasts forever.

Jesus, you have loved me first. Back when I was a sinner, did you had mercy on me. Thank you for your love and mercy! Help me with my brothers and sisters and fellow human beings to have as much patience and love! Help me to live in your commandments! Thank you for the Holy Spirit, my helper and support. He will help me to fulfil Your commandment.
