The End — 2016.01.22
… Because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?"
Hebrews 13:5-6
Some days ago we talked about the last days and the end of the world. Thinking about this one can get scared and concerned. The signs of the end are getting more frequent, maybe we will witness the end ourselves. The Bible describes the end very graphic in Matthew 24.
But that is just the beginning for Jesus. HE will return and He will take us away from the suffering into His glory!
I think of the the plagues of Egypt. Everyone suffered from the first plagues, Jews and Egyptians alike. However, after the first few He differentiated and He spared His people. Everyone, that put himself under the protection of God, was saved. And than, there was God’s great rescue mission: HE freed His people form slavery! For this, He performed many miracles. HE led them with a strong hand. He led them dry feeded through the sea – the enemies drowned in it!
Like that, God will lead and protect His people. HE will be their visible God. HE will do great signs and miracles. And everyone that flocks to Him will be saved. People will rage against the children of God, but He will stand by them – what could those people do against God?
When we only look to the bad and wicked times we get fearful. But when we look to Jesus, who bought us at such a high price, we calm down again. Ultimately He is the Lord! HE personally promised, He will not leave us, and never forsake us. Don’t be afraid! Truly, with such a Lord what should make me afraid? What could trouble me?
Thank You Jesus, I’m save in your hand. Even if everything around me collapses, You are still with me. I am Your child, and You will protect me. I am precious to You. Thank You for Your confidence!
