The Glory of God — 2016.02.21

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty.
The whole earth is full of His glory.
At the sound of their voices the doorposts shook
and the temple was filled with smoke.
Isaiah 6: 3
Isaiah saw the Throne of God and the seraphs who were praising God. Everything there was so holy, mighty and powerful that he only could say: Woe to me, I am ruined!
However, a seraph took a burning coal from the altar and touched his lips with it and said: See, this has touched your lips, your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.
And the Lord Himself said: Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?
Isaiah answered: Here am I, send me!
When I think more deeply about this situation this must have been a great moment of an immense effect. The temple with the throne of God was filled with glory, light, power, holiness, praise. It boomed and crashed, it was almost unbearable in the centre of power and glory of God. However, God empowered him to enter the space of glory by atoning him. The burning coal took away his guilt and the confirmation was stamped on to him: You are cleansed and you are Mine! Isaiah was empowered to be an ambassador of the almighty God.
In the New Testament Acts 2 we read how the power of God fell on the disciples. There was a sound like the blowing of a violent wind and tongues of fire were seen. And then the Power of God fell on them. All people having seen that were staggered and perplexed.
In Acts 4:31 the place where the community were praying was shaken and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit.
God and the Holy Spirit always come in power. That is the power which creates life. We should ask more and more that this power is filling our life as it has been in the temple and with the disciples at that time. Then great things will happen!
Thank You, Jesus, You are the Giver of all good gifts! You like to give us the Power. Please cleanse Your people and me and fill us with this power! We need Your Power to live and to be a witness for You. Burn away in us all barriers so that our hearts belong to You only. We do not want to be satisfied with little, instead we wish to receive everything which You like to give us.
