The God of Comfort — 2016.04.21

Praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort.
2 Corinthians 1:3
He comforts us in all distress. He is near by us when we are broken hearted and crushed. There is no trouble which is too big for the Lord: He is still greater! There is no other God in the whole world who is described as Father of compassion, and God of all comfort. There is only our heavenly Father. The Father of Jesus Christ gives and not makes demands by force. He has endless patience! We can go to Him to talk about all what is oppressing us. It may take hours, or even days, He will have time for us. Even if we approach Him each day with the same problem He never will loose patience, will listen to it as if He hears same the first time. Yes, in His presence you can cry and freely tell Him your thoughts, disclose your feelings. He has strong shoulders to bear that. He loves to have compassion for His children. He likes to caress gently his hair saying: Everything is good, trust me! There are pains where no human comfort can help as emptiness, depression, and no hope. But God will be able to comfort, first softly, gently, quietly. It is good, that we do not lose contact with God in midst of our misery and go to Him instead with all our complaints. Then He slowly will heal our feelings and will plant hope and strength in our heart again. Even if we think we never can be happy again, His presence will bring back, now stronger and deeper than before.Sometimes we make great mistakes: We tell Him our afflictions and quickly depart before He can console and strengthen us. It is as if we go to the doctor, tell him our health problems and say goodbye before he can examine us and write medical recipes. No, we stay with Him as long until He has consoled us. We do it like a little child who falls down and find comfort in mother’s lap and this without words. So the Father is, His presence consoles. He likes to be close to His child and very much esteems when we come to Him with all our problems and trust Him. Never He has sent away anybody without comfort.
Thank You, Father in heaven, for Your comfort. I can come to You with all my problems. You never will send me away. You have patience with me and console me. You give me courage, new hope and joy again.Bible reading today- Ephesians 2: 11-22
