The Good Shepherd – 2015.04.20

The Lord God proclaims: I myself will search for my flock and seek them out.
Ezekiel 34:11The Lord knows all His sheep by name. He knows where they are and how they are doing. He knows those who have lost their way and are far away from Him. He has not lost sight of them. He knows the adversaries who are against everything. With patience and gentleness He will make them to valuable sheep in the herd. He knows the pregnant ewes who soon bring new people into the flock. He knows everyone, knows all by name, is concerned about everyone and knows the right way for everyone: How to lead him, what food he needs and whatever else is still missing. He even knows our secret desires and wants to fulfill them.
But He also sees how much His sheep have scattered. Anywhere they run around, individually or in small groups. He wants to bring them together. That is why He puts the longing for community into them. He does not like the super-shepherds who only think of themselves and their honor, and let the heep starve. They need spiritual food, the living Word of God and the life-giving Spirit.
He also sees how the sheep are entangled in sin and wealth. How sacred is their rest to them! How much do they twist the truth, so that they can stay in the semi-darkness! But He will get them out and put them into His light, so that they can really live. Such a life in two worlds is great stress for us.
He has sent a great shepherd, that He may bring together the flock. The Good Shepherd will take good care of his flock! When the people are united, they can make a big difference. Some build the tower of Babylon, because all have this one goal. Others fight, shoot and kill for an idea. When people stand together and do something together, great things happen! God wants to change His flock through this world and make a big difference; – If only we stand together! Therefore, let us search our brothers and sisters, and worship together and study God’s word! We want to look at what unites us: Jesus Christ!
Thank you, Jesus, You are my Good Shepherd! You know a way for me; You know where there is good food; You know when a place of rest is required. With You I can live with! Thank You for caring for Your herd. You know where Your sheep are and will not lose sight of them; – Including myself. Lead us together so that we can glorify You together and can move heaven and earth!
