The Light of the World – 2016.07.24

See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the people, but the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you.
Isaiah 60:2
Actually the promise was written for Israel. However it is valuable also for the church of Jesus and every believer may take advantage of that. God has only extended this promise to the Christian community but in no case has forgotten Jerusalem. He never will do that!
It is about light and darkness. We have the choice: The light of God, or the darkness of the world. The condition of all the people in the whole world inclusive our nation, our city and neighborhood, possibly our relatives too is covered by darkness. They do not know God, or His power. They create their own intact and bright world with artificial light as neon advertisement, street lamps, and lamps in the apartments. Everywhere is fake light, in television, in cinemas. Everywhere a so called safe world is shown. If the current falls out one time and everything is dark the naked truth shows up: loneliness, fear, plunder…. To hold off the evil always new laws are introduced. In truth they only protect an actually perverted, evil, dark lifestyle. That is the condition of the world without God. It is desolate, lonely, hopeless, evil, and full of violence. All this is only cunningly hidden.
We Christians have Christ, the Light of the world! It is very liberating when we understand that He is shining in us. Not we, He does it! You will not be in the light if you try to live a morally good life without Him. He is the Lord who shines! His light has to be so strong in us that it penetrates the darkness of the world, shines through sin and unbelief. His kindness, love, mercy, forgiveness will make it possible.
He loves His children so much! He wishes to be their Light in the darkness. Our situation might be as it likes, and whichever kind of darkness it may be – He is the Light which always shines brighter than all darkness. In His light we have hope, comfort, and strength. He makes bright our darkness so that we can breathe again in His presence. We rejoice about His light of redemption which shines like a lighthouse in the darkness for all people. He is not only the Hope for us but the Hope for the whole world.
Thank You, Jesus, that You set me free out of darkness. You are my Light, my Hope, my Comfort, and my Strength. In Your Presence I need not to fear. Loneliness and fear are gone as now You live in my heart. Thank You, that You are present!
