The Lord who performs miracles – 2015.03.15
Your ways, O God, are holy.
What god is so great as our God?
You are the God who performs miracles:
you display your power among the peoples.
Psalm 77: 13 + 14
We grew up in a culture, which basically excludes miracles. There are reasons for everything as our rational thinking is telling us. Our intellect is able to discover and explore. Miracles which neglect laws of nature do not exist. And if in fact a miracle happens people are trying to explain that with most crazy theories. These people, who are not able to believe that God does miracles, are spiritually blind and nothing can change their opinion.
Many Christians are characterized by this thinking, even though the Bible says otherwise. They think that God reigns in heaven and has almost no control over the earth. According to their imagination God is living in heaven and we people on earth. There is barely an intervention from above or vice versa ( through prayers). For this kind of Christians no miracles are existing, no signs of God. This is beyond their imagination.
When I experienced my first miracle I had a problem to accept that. How could that happen??? My thinking at that time war severely attacked and collapsed. Today I am very happy to know that God is hearing our prayers and helps us.
I am not allowed to manipulate our Lord to do things I like. He decides everything himselves. But I may pray in sincerity and will carry on to do that. He promised us to hear our prayers. If the Holy Spirit gives me certitude for certain matters I am able to pray with power, to proclaim the victory of God even in advance. However this does not happen daily. Miracles will never become a routine.
I will never forget the miracles of God, will live with them in gratitude. They bring me in total dependence of Him. I will rely on His help all the time as He likes to do it , accept Him as Master of all situations. He has the last word!
I will remember the deeds of the Lord,
I will remember Your miracles long ago,
I will meditate on all Your works
and consider all Your mighty deeds.
Psalm 77: 11+12
Thank you, Jesus, You are our Lord who performs miracles. You never leave nor fail your children. You are immediately at their side to help. I will firmly reckon with You. You are not forgetting us. Never You will say: It is your fault! You are the Lord who has mercy with me.
