But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes to you.

Christmas and New Year is present time! God likes to make us gifts. He sent us His Son to save us. He gives us His spirit, full of strength and power that helps us to live. Each morning He gives us a new day and is with us. Wonderful is our God!
What if He would not give us His spirit? I would not understand the Bible and would not understand anything of God or Jesus. For He explains it to me. I would put my Bible in the bookcase and think: Nice words, if that only were true… I would not believe it and would not trust God.
The Spirit is mentioned in the first chapter of the Bible. He was moving over the water and put everything into order. He stood over the chaos and wonderful life arose. Just like this the spirit wants to stand over our lives – like a hen breeds her eggs, until new life hatches. He brings God’s order into our lives. He helps me to believe. He makes something new of me and my life. Yes, He is the power of God, nothing can resist Him!
Jesus wants us to receive the Holy Spirit and get filled by him more and more. Are there so many ‘lukewarm Christians’ because we do not let the Holy Spirit work? He is the power of God in our lives!
When I engaged myself with the Holy Spirit for the first time, I marked everything that had to do with Him, green in my Bible. And after some time I recognized: Everywhere green, green and more green. Yes, the Bible is full of statements about the Holy Spirit. Jesus says: Do not be afraid, take hold of my gift, for it is the power of God! – Or do we think Jesus’ gifts would be bad for us?
Jesus, fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit! You say it’s good for me. I want the power and the joy that He brings with. I want trust in You, faith, wisdom, life coaching … Yes, I want everything You hold ready for me. For You are the source of life!
