The Sun of Righteousness – 2015.04.27

He makes the sun rise on both the evil and the good and sends rain on both the righteous and the unrighteous.
Matthew 5:45

Jesus came, to save every man who wants to be saved. He did not come to judge and to punish those who sin. The judgment of God will come only after death, certainly not now. We live as Christians in this world in which God brings many blessings but the devil is still referred to be a ruler. There is a lot injustice, disasters, sin, and even devil worship. And there are really many good things: Music, spring, sun and the presence of God. Somehow everything is kind of paradoxical, difficult to understand and to comprehend. We Christians suffer because there are still evil things in the world and are eagerly waiting for the full redemption and the kingdom of God.
Today it is like that time with the ten plagues in Egypt: The first plagues affected all people, both Egyptians and the people of God. But when the plagues got stronger, God made a difference: They no longer affected the people of God. We here are plagued by headaches, flu, allergies, and other accidents just like everyone else. But there is a limit, because God makes a difference. He does not permit everything evil of which the enemy can think of.
It is difficult for us when we see how good it is for the unrighteous. As they revel in piles of money and God apparently does not mind. We have to work hard and the unrighteous are fine. Then we sometimes wish for a hard punishment of God. But Jesus says very clearly: My sun shines on both the righteous and the unrighteous! He wants to win them through mercy, patience, kindness and goodness and not through punishment and judgment. We want to be happy and grateful for all the good things that God gives us. But not look jealous at the others. We have a wonderful God – What do they have?
Thank you, Jesus, Your sun shines on my life! Your grace and Your mercy accompany me. How wonderful You are! It’s enough for me, if I have only You. I do not need millions, no palace with a swimming pool, no Audi A8, but I need YOU. How good that You are here!
