Fort he gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.
Mathew 7, 14

“… For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.” (V.13)
Some people don’t like to decide. They just stay where they are. Then they are in the big crowd and are not noticed. But then you don’t determine your path and you don’t determine your destination. You just go with the flow.
Jesus means that we have to become active if we want to take the way to life, the way to heaven, the way to God. Then we need this decision: Without me! All of you go where you want to go; – not me. I am going my way. I want to go to Jesus. God is important to me. I want to live for Him.
And as soon as you have made this decision, you must constantly decide anew whether you will stay on this path or go with the masses again. Lie a little? No problem, everybody does! – A little foreign property? No problem, everybody does! Yes, whose child are you? Who is the father of lies, and who is the way, the truth and the life?
The door to life is narrow . You cannot go through it with all your luggage. You have to unload before, all useless ballast, all guilt, all worries ……. Jesus wants to take everything from you, so that you can walk the narrow, steep path unburdened. The path is narrow. There is no place for a picnic. There is no place to get out of the way and leave the path. Think it over carefully!
But the goal makes up for everything: We belong to Jesus, we have personal access to the heavenly Father, the guilt is forgiven, the Holy Spirit guides us, we are a new creation, full of joy and peace. HE lives in us, what a privilege!
Jesus died on the cross for me. HE gave everything, even His life. Should I give Him less? Should I keep anything for myself? Should anyone be more important to me than Jesus?

Jesus, I want to follow You, even if the gate is narrow and the way is steep. I know you carry me when it gets difficult. And you are always there as long as I walk on your way. How good it feels to be together with you!
