To be His messengers – 2015.01.17
And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”
Isaiah 6, 8
I have a friend which has a calling from God to work in prison. But it seemed that all the doors are closed, there is no possibility and no way for him to do this work. I thought about it and the Lord showed me that my friend is missing something before he could do the work. He must learn many things. If he went there now it would be a disaster.
God prepares us long time for a work often. We have His calling but it seems nothing happens. So then let’s live here and now and use the time and live according to His word. It is not good to live against His word and to press God making His word come true right away with our own power. I saw it several times when somebody left their jobs to rashly fulfill their calling themselves. But God’s word says: who works shall work as for God. This is a great calling for us!
I saw how one man left his family and took another wife. Because he could much better fulfill his calling with another wife. But God didn’t bless this way…
The conditions for calling and open doors are: I love God with all my heart and all my soul and with all my strength and with all my mind. And I love my neighbor as myself.
It is not about me anymore. It is about my God and my neighbor. I give up myself and my comfort and excuses and make myself available for God. So HE can act through me. I just have to stay in contact with Him, to have fellowship with Him, to speak with Him and to listen to Him. HE Himself will do everything is needed. HE Himself will put us to right place in right time. But will we go then as well?
Thank you, Jesus, You have a great calling for me! I must be Your messenger. Lord, I feel so unworthy and unable! But You want to give me Your Spirit which gives me what I lack. Thank you, You take my hand and go the way with me. It is so good that You are near!
