Waiting Times – 2015.07.31

Why, I ask myself, are you so depressed?
Why are you so upset inside?
Hope in God!
Because I will again give him thanks,
my saving presence and my God.
Psalms 42:5
Even King David, who had experienced so much with God, knows this unrest and oppression, when something is not going well. That is why he must exhort himself to wait for God, and he must turn his gaze deliberately on God.
We always want everything immediately. When we wish for something, we want it immediately. If we have a problem, it must be solved immediately. For us it is even too difficult to wait for the bus at the bus stop. Yet those times are so important. Not because of the phone so you can still enjoy some games or send a message to a friend, but because we have undisturbed time to turn our attention back to God. Do not fritter away those waiting times, do not get restless, but enjoy talking to Him undisturbedly.
The waiting times, until a major problem has been solved, are important. They let us mature. Patience is a sign of maturity. And a strong faith is the sign of a mature Christian. He knows: God is my savior, I will again give Him thanks!
If we have problems, we do not want to push God. It’s good to tell Him our concerns, but it is too much when we want to persuade Him to immediately do everything according to our wishes. Prayer is more a conversation in which we hear what God wants to tell us. He always wants to give us courage, give us hope and comfort. He will glorify Himself in any situation and strengthen our faith in Him. He takes us firmly by the hand and will bring us through, whatever it is! He is the Savior, on whom I look up!
Thank You Heavenly Father, You gave me Your hand! I do not want to always rush forward, but will patiently wait for You. I will not sit around lazy, when You go ahead. Yes, help me to always understand You correctly! Thanks for Your patience with me.
