Pilate asked "philosophical" What is truth​?​
…. and washed his hands in innocence. He was probably more "professional" and political; perhaps he meant: Truth is, what the strongest says. Or, in modern terms: The truth is in the eye of the beholder. – Actually, a meaningless phrase that sounds only wise and promotes big ego.
Wars have been conducted because of the truth, and Christians have mutually smashed their heads in the name of truth. Many young people have migrated to India to find the truth. Others have spent a lot of money for courses … But all of them have not found the truth.
In daily life, things are quite simply dived into true and real and untrue and lie. It is more difficult with questions like these: Does she love me or not? Can I trust someone? Does this work make sense?
And even more difficult it is, when we ask the question of truth as a question of meaning of life: Is there God? What is the way to God? What God says about us? How should I live to comply with this truth? So many, many questions that we cannot answer from our point of view here. For our thinking the answer remains nebulous. We have to wait for a revelation of the truth, it must come to us.
That the truth is not a teaching or a philosophy, but a person who is difficult for us to comprehend. But Jesus is there. Therefore, let us no longer argue about details of the teaching, but seek Him. In him our questions and our search comes to rest. He is the aim and purpose of our lives.
In Colossians 1, 15f is it well expressed: He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For in Him all things were created in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or authorities. All things were created by Him and to through Him.​ ​
He is before all things, in him all things hold together. … Everything in heaven and on earth He wanted to lead them to Christ.
Only when we are completely united with Christ, the fulfillment is there for us. We can already have a foretaste of heaven, have very close community, have life with God. HE wants to be in our hearts and fill us with His truth and with His life. Then, the search is over and our heart is with Him to rest.
Thank you, Jesus, you revealed yourself to me. But I never would have found you! Thank you give me the fulfillment and rest after the long search. Yes, if you fill my heart, I am safe, loved, valuable and deeply satisfied. You are my King!!
