With God all things are possible! – 2014.09.22
With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
Matthew 19:26
A young man who was very rich asked Jesus how he could get into heaven. Jesus asked him if he has kept the commandments. Yes, he has, but something was still missing. Jesus looked at him and loved him. Jesus said: Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor! And then follow me. The man was very sad and walked away because he had a great wealth. Jesus said to his disciples, that a rich man could be very difficult to Heaven. The disciples were terrified and asked: "Who then can be saved?" Yes, Jesus says: "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible"! And Peter asked: "We have left everything to follow you". And Jesus replied: "Everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first."
I am thinking of Francis of Assisi. He was born into a very wealthy merchant family and was a merchant himself . But when he was going home with the from one of his merchant trip with his proceeds, he saw the poor and gave his money to them. The father threw him out of the house and disinherited him. But he endured it all and chose the solitude and dedicated his life to God alone.
I read a book with biographies of the saints of the past 2000 years. And it was always the same: they had to be separated, they suffered a lot, yet have proven themselves in faith. God worked great through all of it!
On the streets of ancient Jerusalem there was a place that was so narrow that a camel barely fit through. And if it was loaded it was not possible at all. So it is with the entrance into the kingdom of heaven: the gate is so narrow that loaded with all possible and impossible things you can not pass through. We must exchange all we have for Jesus! Then HE who is GREAT can work through us. With HIM all things are possible that are impossible for us. And untroubled free from our "burdens" that seem so sweet we will see the impossible! God will use us mightily!
Thank you, Jesus, You cover everything I lack. For you I can give everything, because you have all the wealth and the life to the full. You care for me! I want my heart not to depend on anything but you. You are worth it!
