Wonderful – 2016.05.28

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
Psalm 139: 14

Discontent is widespread. People are dissatisfied mainly by their appearance, with their job, with their spouse, with their Church, actually with everything. Everywhere you can find something so is not quite right. And then we begin to find moan.
God wants us to go through life happy, cheerful and light-footed; – But how does it work, if we are unhappy?
First of all: There is nothing on earth completely holy, pure, beautiful. Everything is clouded by sin. Everything is just a foretaste of heaven (see 1 Cor. 13). So also man is never entirely holy or beautiful. Yet David says, we should be thankful that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. He himself had red hair, and this would be today a reason for others to mock him.
It is as always a question of perspective. Where do we see and what do we see. Many see almost only on the gift and very little of the giver. But God is the Creator; – has He done something not good?? Is he himself not perfect and wonderful? How should the Creator create something that is supposed to be like Him, and is not wonderful?? Or do you mean seriously, he has made a mistake with you? Then you were the first …
We want to direct our attention entirely to the Creator, our Heavenly Father. And away from ourselves. Then we are free of the dissatisfaction and nagging. Then we see how He has made everything wonderful. Then we don’t need to look in the mirror to check if everything is correct. Then we are free, no longer depending on other people’s opinion.
It is not always easy to recognize the wonders of God in all His works and ways. But we want to take the decision to look for it and see it. Even if we do not understand everything, we still want to thank Heavenly Father for everything; because we trust Him.

Thank You Heavenly Father, You have made me wonderful! Not everything is working all right any longer, I’m a little older now, but I always marvel at how good my hand is working, how accurate the eyes can coordinate, and how one can stand to so little feet, how one can hear fine music and how sometimes con remember something; – What are memories? This is also Your marvelous work, Father! Yes, You have done everything wonderful, even me! Thanks for the other people, the flowers, the clouds, the sun, the stars and everything wonderful Your creation!
