What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world,
yet forfeit their soal?
Or what can anyone give in exchange for his soal?
Matthew 16:26
These are very interesting verses which very much caused me to think about. It is about the meaning and purpose of life.
During the last days I was not well at all. I tried to overcome it by playing with the computer. A game captivated my entire attention in such great intensity that I forgot anything around me. At this moment nobody should have bother me if he did not want to upset me completely. It certainly should not be like that!
God surely has nothing against computer, work, money, hobbies and all other similar things. They are alright. However, there is the danger that we misuse them, deal with them in such a way that we forget God, lose sight of Him. That is sin, separation of God!
I know people who constantly watch Christian videos and wherever possible they immediately want to demonstrate with pride what they have heard of wisdom. But it is obvious that their daily life does not reflect  the gospel, they are not at all followers of Jesus, they are not a bit humble, warm, patient or so. Indeed, they are selfish, not all free from greed and take it with the truth not so excactly.
Many people are deeply engrossed in their hobbies. They live in their own world, are happy and do not seem to care when the world outside is destroyed. Have they ever heard the call of Jesus?
And there are many people who work too much, work overtime to buy attractive things like new furniture, to live in luxery, to make exciting trips. They put their whole ernergy in such vain things. And what about the Kingdom of God?  At best they go to church on Sunday, sing in the choir, go to a Bible lesson for a short time. But they do not know Jesus who can not take their prayers seriously.
Please focus on Him and on that what is eternal. Talk to Him daily, walk with Him and follow Him! He has enough to do for you! You must not fill the precious time only with hard work for luxery, or to kill it with mere hobbies, or with any other plunder to finally end up always dreaming from recovery. Jesus needs you! Arise and start to think about how you can live for Him, do something for Him, pray seriously.
Be relaxed. I recently watched a video where children played happily and carefree. This reminded me of the truth to live like children, as human beings like them own the Kingdom of God.
Yes, so it should be: Let us walk with Him hand in hand in close communion praising and thanking Him. With the eyes on the Lord life becomes meaningful and makes you truly happy.
Thank You, Jesus! With You my life will be valuable, meaningful, and purposeful. It will not cramp. Nothing will pull me away from you, no work, no projects, no hobbies. You will give me the strength to take care that I am always closely at Your side..
