There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear expects punishment. The person who is afraid has not been made perfect in love.
1 John 4, 18
Hallelujah, God has made us completely free! We tend to make us laws and rules that we need to keep, to be a good Christian. But so well these rules are, even we ourselves do not always keep them. And then the fear comes up; our bad conscience prevents us from having community with our heavenly Father. Yes, we even expect His condemnation and damnation. But God only wants one thing: We should remain in His love. This is the only "law" that we must keep. If we are in His love, in this close communion with Him there is no condemnation. Because we know Jesus has forgiven all our fault. He has paved the way to God. He has used us as children of God. He puts His Holy Spirit in our hearts, so that we can cheerfully say, Abba, Father! God absolutely wants that we build up trust in Him. Because He is love personified and every distrust hurts Him. Therefore it is said: We have known and have believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and those who remain in love remain in God and God remains in them. This is how love has been perfected in us, so that we can have confidence on the Judgment Day, because we are exactly the same as God is in this world.
Thank you, Father, for Your infinite, overflowing, unshakeable love for us! Pour out Your mind into our hearts, so that it can comprehend this love! And free us from any legalism, because only by Your grace and love we are saved and can be Your children. You are the God I love!
