But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from everything we’ve done wrong.
1 John 1, 9
For a long time I had certain ideas about how a Christian should be. But I myself was not enough for these ideas. A Christian should always be kind, he should always be happy, and loving and gentle and welcoming and full of faith …. The image of a Christian was right, only I myself am not. That gave me a serious headache and it lasted not long until I constantly condemned myself. I was not what a christian should be!
But God, my heavenly Father, came to help me. He showed me this verse and told me that He forgives all my sins every morning. He purifies me every morning anew. And He forgives everything that is wrong.
Then He showed me another verse, Isaiah 43:1: "Do not be afraid – I will save you. I have called you by name – you are mine." And He said: I knew you before the foundation of the world. And I knew exactly what kind of person you are. And yet I love you, say yes to you and I want you. When Jesus died on the cross, He died for all your fault, even for the ones you will not commit until tomorrow. Yes, you are my child and I am faithful and just, you will always be my child!
Thank you, Father that You love me sooo much! You know me and want me nevertheless! This is beyond me, but I will believe it and I do not want to condemn myself constantly. Help me to believe You!
