Hallowed be your name – 2017.01.27

Jesus says:  Pray then like  this:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name
.
Matthew 6, 9
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me, bless his holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my Soul,
and forget not all his benefits.
The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
Bless the Lord, O you  his angels,
you mighty ones who do his word, obeying the voice of his word!
Bless the Lord, all his hosts, his ministers who do his will!
Bless the Lord, all his works, in all places of his dominion.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
Psalm 103,1.2.8.13.19-22
Awaken, O my soul! I want to wake the dawn, strings and harps, awaken! Indeed, I want to worship praise the Lord, from morning to night, and from dusk to dawn.  He is worth it!  How great His greatness!  How strong His arm!  How merciful, patient and compassionate He is!
I fear my praise is too weak for this mighty God!  My song so faint! My life for Him a pitiful struggle.  It is impossible for me to give Him appropriate praise… I am only human, no angel.
But God says:  I am merciful and patient.  Therefore I know:  He accepts my praise.  He accepts the good will of the deed.  And best of all,  He finds joy in my bad singing!  Where else can we find a god who is so forthcoming toward his children?  Who loves his children so much?  Who enjoys their company so much?  That is the best thing about our Lord:  He loves being among us!  Thus let us praise and worship the Lord even more, for He is the Father who takes mercy upon us!
During our song the Lord wants to care for His children.  He performs miracles, He heals weaknesses and disabilities, He heals illness, banishes evil forces, forgives  our trespasses, works on our souls, grants joy and peace … it feels good to be one with Him in praise!
But my unholiness and imperfections bother me.  I stand before Him with a guilty conscience and cast my eyes down.  But then I understand:  He wants to forgive,  He wants to cleanse me of all my inabilities!  And the joy arises. For I believe Him!  I am cleansed of all disgrace, I am free to praise Him and be with Him!  Hallelujah!
Thank You Jesus, for opening up the way to God!  You have granted full forgiveness for everything!  I am free to worship and praise Him!  Cleansed and pure I stand before Him, my mighty God, praising and thanking Him.  Nothing can be better than being with You, my Lord!!!
