In His presence! – 2016.09.04

My heart says of You, "Seek His face!"
Your face, Lord, I will seek.
Psalm 27:8
Sometimes there is much stress and pressure so that Jesus is easily forgotten. Then, somehow, everything seems to go wrong and little things become a problem. In this situation I better pause to see Jesus again, my Lord, Master of all chaos.
But sometimes I seek Him in vain. I read in the Bible, but God does not reply. I feel guilty and look for the reasons of the unease in me. I wish so much to be holy, pure, and clean. In the light of the Lord, however, it is by far not so! How wonderful, that the blood of Jesus cleanses me all the time, that He fills me with the Holy Spirit. By grace I see my sins which separate me from God; I need not longtime to find them. I have to clean them up to restore the community with Jesus.
But sometimes God remained silent, even though I have committed no sin. I think that in this case God might test me how strong my faith is, with what kind of power I am seeking Him, how much time I invest for that. When I am severely missing His presence I intensively seek Him and cry inwardly to Him. May be sometimes it takes long time before He shows me again His face. For me it seemed sometimes to be endless but finally He is there and I am very happy.
I seek Him when I am alone. But I talk to Him also in the bus, or when I am among people. I also seek Him together with sisters and brothers who also search for God. We sing songs of praises, pray together, hear His messages, and realize that He is in our midst. I seek Him in His words, in the bible. I read it and God talks personally into my situation.
Sometimes there is a battle in me against unrest, sorrows and fears. Sometimes God does not want the way I wish. Other things could be important for me as He likes. Yes, sometimes it is really difficult to seek His face. But He is worth it. If I let myself drift there is the danger that I forget him and lose the relationship with Him. Never I will allow that!
Moses seeked the Lord in the sanctuary. There he was able to talk to God. And when he returned after some time his face reflected the glory of God. He was holy and pure in this moment. But nevertheless he made mistakes like us, had his rough edges. When we seek the Lord and are in His presence then His light shines through us too. This light we want to preserve. We want to stay in His presence and not get lost in the morass of the world.
Thank You, Jesus, You are my way to God! Because You cleanses, sanctify me I may have communion with the Father. More of Your power so that I live purely and holy!
