Jesus our Intercessor – 2016.12.28

Therefore He is able to save completely
those who come to God through Him,
because He always lives to intercede for them.
Hebrew 7:25
What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear;
what a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, o what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
Have we trials and temptation? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful, who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Are we weak and heavyladen, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Saviour, still our refuge; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer,
in His arms He´ll take and shield thee, thou wilt find a solace there.
Text: Joseph Medlicott Scriven 1855
Yes, Jesus is our Intercessor before God. How wonderful that He is with us. When we are lonely, sad, downhearted, or threatened, we run to Him. We are safe and secure in His strong hands. Here on earth He has experienced everything, went through all problems. He was born as a little child, learned to go and grew up. He went safely through the defiant -,  and puberty age with all the their known troubles. He was happy and sad, had success and failures. He had to learn to read, to write and to practice in mathematics. Later He works in His Fathers carpenters shop. For 30 years he lived like any other human being, was hungry and thirsty, happy or tired, froze and transpired. He knew well the temptations to lie. He was tempted in all areas of life in the same way as we had been, but He remained without sin in contrast to us. So He, sitting at the right side of His Father, is able to intercede for us before the Lord in all matters. He is full of compassion and mercy. He does not look at our external dirt, He checks our heart whether it seeks and loves Him.
We need no other Intercessor before God than Jesus alone. He takes care of us, carries our weakness. He loves us so much, calls us His bride. He now prepares for us heavenly homes where we will live with Him together for ever. There the glory of God reigns and we will live in fulfillment and completeness.
How He loves His little flock! He does everything to keep and protect them. He is glad if they laud and praise Him and put their trust fully in Him. So He lives in midst of them as their mighty King and Lord.
Thank You, Jesus, that You came. You know our life as human beings. You shared our heights and depths. So You are able to understand and to help us to go the right way. Yes, I full trust You!
