The pure in heart – 04.08.2016

Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God.
Matthew 5: 8
When we see a small newborn child, we marvel often at the essence of purity and innocence. One notes that one has lost it himself. And since you will almost envious, but in any case full of longing to return to a state of purity and innocence. We remember: this is the only way that God can confront a person. One must be pure, innocent, holy and righteous! – So we want it for us.
Isaiah could see the throne of the Lord again. His reaction was: Oh, I am undone! Woe is me, I am lost! For I am a man of unclean lips and I live among a people of unclean lips … (6, 5). When he looked at the glory, holiness, size and purity of the Lord, he almost perished in his own unholiness. We cannot face God, as we are! He is simply too bright, clear, glorious, powerful, indescribable.
And in our verse, Jesus promises just that: We will see God. He makes true his word, the prerequisites for this are, but with us: have a clean heart.
What does the Bible say about our heart? In Matthew 12, 34 says: What the heart is full, the mouth speaks And in Matt..15, 18 f Says Jesus. But what comes out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile the man. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, fornication, theft, false witness, slander. That is what defiles a man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile.
Jesus knows our hearts and secret thoughts. We may talk so nice and friendly, but in our hearts, it often looks different. For this reason He wants our hearts. He stands in front of our heart door and knocks. Who opens and takes him, with him He wants to keep the love feast together. There he wants to clean up the heart and throw out the rubbish and everything dirty. And then he wants to decorate it with His gifts: joy, peace, kindness, forgiveness, love, mercy, justice, holiness, glory, light and hope and whatever else is missing. If the source of our heart is pure and clean, it is the heart and also our thoughts and words are too. Then we can see God!
In silence and in some worship God wants us to have a foretaste. He is to feel, to taste, He shows us the consolation He speaks to us. Yes, in outline, we can experience God already here and "see"; – With the eyes of the heart.
Thank you, Jesus, you have freed for me the way to God! You make my heart clean through forgiveness, You make me righteous and holy, through you I can see God already through the eyes of the heart. How good that you are here !!!!
