The young people, the next generation! – 2019.07.14

The word of the Lord came to me:
“Today I have made you a fortified city,
an iron pillar and a bronze wall to stand against the whole land…
They will fight against you but will not overcome you,
for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 1:18f

Jeremiah had difficult assignments ahead of him. And he was still so young. God saw that and assured him His help. Who should be able to do something against the Lord?
Also the young people of today are in great difficulties. More than ever people live rootless, make fun of the faith. The enemy lures with a glittering world, with movies, fantasies, sex, dance and drunkeness, all kind of light pleasures… who can there resist and not fall? Only this one who knows the Lord. From birth, we should teach the children to trust God. We thereby should be a good example, be always in contact with our Lord, make no compromise and live a lifestyle, which the younger generation can follow. (Oh, in this moment I realize I still have a lot missing!)
Indeed our young people need roll models, they need people who live the faith and not just talk about it all the time.
They need free space in Christian communities to exchange their experiences, to learn to stand for each other, to try new things, to sing new songs. They need patience and encouragement, good talks of Gods Word without too much teaching. They really need our support!  We should lead them to safe places and not let them run into bad situations.
God is blessing us elders with this ability. When Jesus calls you, follow Him. He knows your way in advance and therefore embolden you: Be strong! Be a wall against sin! Have a firm forehead equal to a diamond against the attacks of the enemy. Do not be intimidated, do not give up. He, our Lord, who so wonderfully protected David will also be with you in the same way. Do not be afraid to make mistakes. God will correct and forgive you. Have no fear of man, follow God
s instructions even if it could offend people.God will take care of them. Be faithful to Him who loves you so much. Stay in steady contact with Him, keep your prayer time to be sufficiently equipped for the new day.

Thank You, Jesus, You are with me and I am safe!  The whole world may be in tumult, You hold me. What a comfort to rest in Your hands.
