Blessed are the pure in heart;
for they will see God.

Our longing is God. Let us keep our eyes on Him!  We want to know Him and be in harmony with Him! That is the longing and hope of all creatures. Because with Him there is peace, joy, acceptance, comfort – everything that is to be found in us is in Him. One may call it by a different name, not everyone says “God” to the goal of their longing, but that is what HE is.
To be one with creation and with the Creator, peace without end within oneself and with the environment, with the Creator and Judge; – fulfilment of longing.
With a pure heart we can see God; with a tainted, full heart, we are blind.
Simply having all your sins forgiven is not enough. It is not enough that we are totally holy.
We need Jesus in our hearts before we reach our goal. The Pharisees felt holy, innocent and pure, but they were very far removed from God.
It is possible to clean the entire house, yet not to invite a new occupant. And when it is empty, the cheater, liar and enemy quickly comes and occupies the cosy house of the heart.
We need Jesus in our hearts! Only then will we reach our goal! He is the Son of God, God Himself! It is Him we need to recognize with our hearts. It is He who must rule in our hearts. Then we have reached our destination.
Having fellowship with Him, a relationship of love, a conversation, a life together – that is what we need. Then come what will, we have peace in Him, we are at our goal.
Therefore Jesus says: “If you do not become like children, you cannot enter the kingdom of God.
Yes Lord, I want to be as simple, natural and full of trust, just like a small child!  I want You, Jesus, in my heart. Everything else should disappear, no matter how good it is. I want to belong to You alone, and live only for You. Because You in me are the fulfilment of all my longing. I am safe in you.

O Lord, help me remain close to You, and not go astray again! Don’t let anything in me grow bigger than You! Jesus, life together with You is beautiful, together in unity and harmony. How good that You forgive guilt and sanctify me. But the best thing is that You live within me!
