Jesus and His disciples had also been invited to the wedding.

Jesus is sooo different from us, we think! Could He, the Son of God, the Holy One, really be on a wedding  where you have fun, plenty to eat and to drink, where you are singing, be in a good mood. Yes, Jesus was not a joy killer admonishing the people not to drink too much vine, not to eat too much and not to dance. He was quite a social man with whom everyone could feel comfortable. The Pharisees called him a glutton and a drunkard. However, those who loved Him, saw in Him the Son of God, the Holy One, the Saviour and Redeemer.
Also today there are Pharisees, people who have their own idea of holiness. For them it is not allowed to drink a glas of vine, to dance or to have a little bit of fun. They put their rules over the freedom in Jesus, a desaster for the Christian community.
The enemy has twisted the good of God into bad. He wants to kill and destroy the people, families, nations. He uses the alcohol as a deadly tool. God has given us the vine to enjoy it and be happy with a grateful heart.
We as Christians have to take care that we always honor Him and do not misuse our freedom in Christ by living in debauchery, by living at costs of others. God does not want to give us rules which allow and forbid. He gave us the Holy Spirit who guides us and helps us to live as it is pleasing God.
In this way we may be happy, enjoy the gifts of God, His community, may dance and sing as the joy is our strength in God. We will not listen to the destroyer, will not drink too much to forget our misery, will instead honor God continuously in all matters. He loves us.
Thanky You, Jesus, You are at my side. I may be happy and may enjoy the time with You in gratitude. I am free of rules that man creates. I am only accountable to you! This I do with peasure. You love me and I love You. The freedom You give me I will not abuse!
