Prayer language – 2015.05.06

All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enables them.
Acts 2: 4
As soon as people invite Jesus to come into their heart, are believers, they change their language style. They stopp cursing and lying. Instead they begin to thank and to talk positively. They do not mourn and grumble any more. They praise God and speak of His great deeds. For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. This text interpretation is certainly good and correct, but it is not explaining all. For if we continue reading we realize that the disciples could fluently speak languages which they did not know before. Many Jews from around the world had been in Jerusalem who could hear the desciples speak in their native language. The Holy Spirit enabled them to speak foreign languages whithout having learned them before.
There are many testimonies in the Ecclesiatical History that people were able to speak in other languages. Also today the prayer in unlearned languages is quite common worldwide. It is by far not a Dadada baby language.Scientifical investigations verified correct grammar and sentence structure. Some missionaries had visited tribes far away and heard people praying there in best English. Really normal languages are concerned.
Paulus encourage us to pray in other tongues. He says: Who prays in tongues is edifying himself (1 Corinthians 14:1-5). This is not the only proof that you are safed. Others who are not praying in tongues are safed as well. It is not a sign of great maturity of faith either. It is a undeserved gift of God. Nevertheless we should eagerly strive for the gifts of the Spirit.
Some have received this gift but do not apply it and forget it. I wonder why God had given this gift to them. We need this gift when we pray for otherwise we are blocking the flow of the Spirit. How I can pray effectively for a person? Only the Holy Spirit exactly knows the needs of the neighbor. He fathoms everything.
The same refers when I thank God for His mercy. After some time I do not remember anything more for which I can thank. The Holy Spirit however can praise God for hours. Therefore I invite Him to come, to act and pray through me. I notice how He is moving in me. He makes me laughing and praising. He cares for my health, for my well-being and restore much. He gives me new and fresh ideas. He helps me to look at others in a different way, positively. When I am broken He lifts me up, strengthen my faith. When I am sad and depressed, lonely and left alone He gives me new courage. Yes, that is true: Who prays in tongues is edifying himself.
Thank you, Jesus, for this present! Forgive me if I forget to apply it sometimes. I like to live as you want. If You want me to speak in tongues please fill me with Your Spirit and help me. I am willing to receive Your gifts. Thank you that You always like to give me the best, nothing but refreshing water of life.
