Fill Me with Joy – 2016.08.08

You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Psalm 16:11

God fills our life with joy and pleasure until time stops! But some never feel it or they think God will only reward them with eternal pleasure once they are in heaven.
But God wants to give us a taste for heaven right now!
Jesus said: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
The way to life goes through Jesus, and Jesus is the only one that fills me with joy. Sometimes the way is narrow and difficult but the light of God is shining on us. Jesus never forgets us. And He carries us over those passages that are to dangerous for us.
Jesus is with us every step of the way, He is our travel companion. Together with Him this isn’t a long and endless road of pain but a path that is actually interesting to walk.
He is the life. If I give Him room in my heart and if He is truly my Lord there will be joy in my heart. Than the circumstances of my life don’t matter anymore. What matters is my relationship to God. And than He gives me a taste of heaven.
Our way of life should be filled with joy because He – my good shepherd – is with me!
Our joy is supposed to be contagious. We won’t convince others to follow Him by using arguments but by infecting them with Gods joy. Together with Him, the Lord of joy, there is nothing impossible anymore. We can pray and confidently expect great things to come. We don’t need to dwell on the past because He forgave our sins and our failures. We don’t need to be fearful of the future: He is the Lord over everything and He is with us.
When children hike with their father they walk unburdened. He carries a backpack filled with drinks, sweets, and everything else and the children are free to explore the path and discover things on their own. There will be a break when the children are tired and there will be fun, play, singing, and stories when there is time for it. It’s similar with our heavenly Father! …filled with joy and eternal pleasures!
Thank You Jesus, for you are with me! Yesterday, today, and tomorrow is in your hand. And because of this I can start the day optimistic and go my way joyfully. Together there is joy and eternal pleasures!
