Living Stones – 2016.06.25

You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
1. Peter 2, 5

Jesus Christ is the living rock. Anyone who stands on him is safe. He is a small, living rock, as Jesus is the large rock. The small stones become a spiritual house, the temple of God; – He lives there. There spiritual sacrifices are made; not bloody animal sacrifices, but praise, thanks and worship. There the sacrifices of intercession are brought that count much more to God much, than the blood of dead animals. Even we ourselves are to be living sacrifices of the Lord. How good it is when we have found the pleasure of our God! As well, when God lives in the midst of His people! Because peace without end, joy without limits, cheering and dancing, light without shadow … there is fulfillment and happiness for us.
If we hold firmly to Jesus, the rock, we will then become a rock. Deeply rooted in Jesus can we cannot be tossed over anymore. Fear will not defeat us. Darkness loses its terror. He holds us in His hand and not the evil. That is why we may rejoice and be happy!
At the beach, the children build small castles of sand. But when the waves come, the Castles are flooded and washed away. But a little further there are large rocks on the shore. Also there clapped waves ashore, but it does not interest the rocks; – They are there firmly and securely. Who wanted to move? Who wants to simply wash away? They are firm. – Just as our character and our heart will be when we have become the rock beside the rock Jesus Christ.
... now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in Scripture it says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,” and “A stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they disobey the message—which is also what they were destined for. But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. (1 Peter 2, 3-10).

Thank You, Jesus, You are the rock on which I am sure! With You my heart comes to rest; with You I find security and the fear passes. With You there is light and the darkness is passing away. You hold me and make me strong.
