My soal finds rest in God alone;
my salvation comes from Him.
Psalm 62:1
Sometimes I am confronted with many problems in a bunch. Sometimes many want a lot of things right away from me. Sometimes there are disputes and no piece the whole day through. Sometimes dreams are shattered. Sometimes our daily work is too heavy. Sometimes we are at the limit with our strength, patience, and hope … it seems that somehow nothing works anymore.
How comforting that God is still there! Really everything is finally breaking down, has an end. Even the whole world will pass away one time. Where is hope inspite of our disappointments, where is hope even beyond death? Only in Jesus who has overcome death, illness, and all misery. Yes, my soal finds rest in Him; my salvation comes from our Lord.
It is so good when I call His name before the day starts. I instantly put my children, my friends, my work, myself and everything under His protection. I asked for support, wisdom, and mercy. He is my Daddy who will be at my side the whole day through. If I get confused, or if there is a calamity He is always in control. His will is done inspite, His help and consolation is building me up again. I am secure in His hands.
If the nasty question is put: why me always? Why only I have to suffer? Why this thickness? Why, why, why? In this moment I look at Him, who had suffered much more. He will not answer my many questions, He will be simply at my side. He is my hope as all solutions are in Him. He is my Friend and the Creator of the universe at the same time.
Jesus says: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, I will keep you up to the end.. And one time I will take you to be with Me, because you are my friends.
Thank you, Jesus, You are filling my heart with joy! I need not to worry always as you are my Lord. How wonderful that You are near by me so that I can sing in the morning and give thanks as You are my Friend, more powerful, victorious and almighty. My soal finds rest in You, as You are my Hope which never disappoints me.
