My Way – 2017.01.02

Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalm 139:23-24
Today a new year has started. What will we do with it? What did we do with the old year? On New Year’s Eve it’s nice to look back on the past year, and how great we were lead through the year by God. It wasn’t always easy but He proved himself, He was faithful, and everything is in His hand, forever.
Now we welcome the new year. Maybe we look with sorrow into the future, maybe we expect something great, maybe we need to make some huge decisions… We should take some time and formulate our expectations and goals. And, before everything, we want that our Lord is the Lord in 2017!
The heavenly Father should search our heart, our thoughts, and everything that makes us us. He will show us when He likes everything that He finds. When He takes offense in my way He needs to correct me. I want to walk on His paths, the trodden out paths of faith, mercy, patience, and love. Again, in the new year, I will be focused on His mercy, because His sign above me means Love.
He will lead me on His paths. I have to make a couple of hard decisions and I don’t always know what’s the right paths to take. Sometimes God takes to me through a verse in the bible. Sometimes I know what His will is when I pray. Often I know from experience what He wants. But sometimes I just don’t know what to do and I command my decision to the Lord and He will guide me for the sake of His name. I blindly trust in Him.
Maybe some decisions weren’t right, but I know God forgives me. He doesn’t hold it against me, but helps me to fix the damages and to return on His path. Be brave, my soul, He is with me to lead me even if I don’t even notice it! We can’t do everything right, so our trust in Him is of most importance. He knows our heart and will turn everything into good. Trust Him for everything in the new year!
Yes Jesus, You always took care of me and you will do it again in 2017. You are faithful and You will not let me perish. You are with me and You protect me. It’s great to have a Lord that I can trust!
