But the joy that you have given me

There is nothing more soothing than a strong, good friend. He stands by me, he protects me and does not permit that someone means me any harm. Since I can sleep easy and really good! Since there really is reason to be happy!
Jesus is this good, strong friend. In Him I am safe and secure. With Him there is reason to be happy and I can be happy. All my concern, also about the children, I put on Him, for He cares for us. Then I can lay me down in peace and go to sleep; – He keeps guard. How good, Jesus, that You are there!
I do not need to be envious of the people who have everything in abundance. Because I have Jesus, who means more to me than any wealth. For He Himself is incredibly rich and blesses me anytime with everything I need. Why should I be envious of other people?

Thank You, Jesus, You are my best friend! You stand by me in every situation. Even if I myself have debt, You stand up for me. All my worries and troubles I can throw at You, because You care for me. How wonderful that I have found such a good friend!
