In those days people will no longer say: The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge.
Jeremiah 31:29

These are strange words which one hardly can understand in the beginning. They should express: If you eat sour grapes you have a dull feeling in the mouth and the teeth feel like dull. Of course the teeth of the children are not set on edge physically when the parents eat sour grapes. However, when the parents fail also their children suffer.
God is a God of grace and mercy, not a wrathful judge. Surely He does not like it that children suffer from the failure and guilt of the parents. But unfortunately it is so in reality. Already in school the children are evaluated according to the behavior of the parents. “Oh yes indeed whose parents are …. ", so one says to explain the conduct of the children.
God does not want that. In court the children are not punished for the deeds of the parents. They have not to pay or to be put into jail when their parents commit crimes. In the Kingdom of God everybody is responsible for his own debt. Yet, the people do not accept that and the enemy not at all. The Bible says that God will lay the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the 4th generations. The enemy very much likes to torture us due to the faults of the parents, grandparents, great-grandparents. Certain behaviors seem to be inherited: The father was a drinker, the son will be the same. Mother looks after men, the daughter will do it too.
Sometimes we suffer from bad mental constitution for which we have no explanation: Despair, loneliness, depression, fears, suicidal thoughts and others. This sad behavior as described above could be the consequence of the failures of ancestors who worshiped the devil asked him for help, spoke with the dead, told fortunes, delt with astrology.
God wants to save and heal! He gave us the Holy Spirit to set us free from the behavior of the parents. The Holy Spirit knows what the ancestors did and will disclose it. A clear mind is required for that, a gift of knowledge and distinction. If we consult the Holy Spirit He will reply and show us the reasons. We are then able to forgive the ancestors and to destroy the chains of the enemy in the name of Jesus.
We will be released as God is more powerful than the enemy. It might take a little bit longer, but God has promised it and He keeps His word. In Him is salvation!
Thank You, Father, You care for me in every respect. You free me from pressure, distress, and despair. You release me from the bondages of the ancestors. You set me free! Thank You for Your Spirit who discloses everything. Thank You for Jesus who sets us free. You have given to us true, new life!
