The bad Talk – 2018.07.01

Why then were you not afraid
to speak against my sevant Moses?
Numbers 12:8
Aaron and Miriam were jealous of their brother Moses, talked against him because of his Cushite wife whom he had married against the law.  And the Lord heard this. Moses, however, was a very humble man, more than anyone else on the face of the earth. At once the Lord asked all three to come out to the tent of meeting where He summoned Aaron and Miriam to listen to Him: Moses is my servant whith whom I speak face to face. I have entrusted him my whole “house”. Why then you dared to speak against him. The anger of the Lord burned against them, and He left them. In this moment Miriam`s skin was leprous and became as white as snow. Aaron immediately understood the reason of that and said to Moses: Please do not hold against us the sin that we have so foolishly committed! Moses showed compassion and cried out to the Lord: Please, God, heal her. God had mercy, but wanted her to be imprisoned with this desease for seven days outside the camp before He finally healt her.
Therefore be careful not to talk badly about a servant of God. Guard your tongue and do not say things that anger God. We often have the bad habit to criticize leaders, politicians, and people in responsibility. That is so easy! We better should admit that we cannot fulfill their tasks better and should be aware  of our jealous attitude and of bad talking.
However, God is a just Judge. He does not like it at all when people talk badly about His servants. The consequences are clear – see Miriam: leprosy and isolation. By doing that we separate ourselves from the presence and love of God and of His servant as well. Can that work out well when people are talking badly about a person who is confirmed by God as His servant and through whom He speaks?
We have to be extremely careful and control ourselves not to sin against a servant of God in this way. On the other side we have to identify false teachings and clearly name them as such which is sometimes not so easy.
We, ourselves, are protected by God with regard to bad talking and rumors. He takes care of us. But sometimes He also uses this bad talkings to check our qualitiy of humility, whether we are prepared to overcome our pride and to forgive. Let Him fight for us, and let Him protect our good name. Otherwise we make things worse. Be always certain that we are under His protection!
Thank You, Jesus! I am safe in You and fully protected against all intrigues and lies. You said yes to me, are with me and make all things well again. Please forgive all my bad talkings about others and give me the strength not to do that anymore.
