An old question is whether Christians can be possessed. Obsessed means, they are owned by Satan. Then they do no longer have a will of their own, but are controlled by the enemy.
I think Christians are controlled by Jesus Christ and they do have a will of their own. But we can often observe that many Christians have evil inclinations. If they follow them, they quickly come to fall. A woman always believed in lies. She misunderstood something and turned around what was said and was always terribly angry about the supposed insult. Nothing could distract her from her belief. Prayer against this lying spirit brought liberation, but she liked to come back to her old lying spirit. For the children, it was hard to bear.
So if someone starts going into the wrong direction or listen to the enemy even just a little bit, he quickly gets on the wrong path and the enemy can manipulate him greatly; – Apparently the human wants it that way. But when he defends itself from the outset, however, this will not happen.
The Bible says: … If you do the right thing, won’t you be accepted? But if you don’t do the right thing, sin will be waiting at the door ready to strike! It will entice you, but you must rule over it.(1 Genesis 4: 7).
Christians can not be taken in possession by the enemy, but can be manipulated and can become really angry or even believe lies that are not in accordance with the word of God, or be quenched in the life of faith, so that they do not grow.
We must rule over these spirits! For this purpose, we need each other. There are different spiritual gifts and one of them is the discernment of spirits. These siblings definitely notice if an evil spirit is behind a characteristical difficulty and they can find out why such a spirit has power over the people. You can ask for the forgiveness of sins, which gave the devil the right to torture people. And they can send away the enemy in the name of Jesus; – This is called liberation.
There are incredible transformations of people, when the evil one finally can no longer manipulate these people! There are strong liberations of constraints and disbelief when the devil finally can not get involved anymore!
Of course, not every problem can be solved in this way. Sometimes only disobedience to the Word of God or sin is behind these problems. But we have so many ancestors who have committed various sins, there is a "deep cleaning" usually very useful, so we can be free and happy Christians.
There is a way to cope with these manipulations of the enemy: By firmly clinging to Jesus, entirely at one with Him. In Psalm 91 it is written: "Because he is attached to Me, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he knows my name. "
Thank you, Jesus, You came to destroy the works of the enemy. Please, liberate me from any evil manipulation! Uncover where the enemy may still influence me so that we can defeat him. Thank you that You are the stronger, the Winner, the Redeemer and Savior! In You I can entrust myself without hesitation. Uncover where the enemy is lying to Christians and churches and where he ties them, so that liberation is happening and we can be happy and free! Your gospel is the liberating, joyous message.
