In the beginning, when God created the universe, the earth was formless and desolate. The raging ocean that covered everything was engulfed in total darkness, and the Spirit of God was moving over the water.
Genesis 1, 1-2
This morning, when it became bright, it was hazy. The humidity set down anywhere and wetted everything. That reminded me of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God. He also pervades everything with His life-giving essence. He hovers over the darkness considering how it can become a wonderful thing. Tirelessly He creates new things. He calls things into existence which did not exist before and which were unimaginable for us. But He is the Creator Spirit who constantly creates new! Thus, He keeps watching over our lives and plans wonderful things. He can not be impressed by the current situation, but has wonderful plans what he could do with our life. We should let Him working, then it’s gonna be good! The first thing God created was the light. Yes, at first God will turn on the light of hope in our lives and then he will begin to create anything more beautiful. He is the Almighty, for Him nothing is too hard!
Just as there is humidity everywhere, even in the hot desert, the Spirit of God is everywhere. He is omnipresent. Sometimes there is rain and we are really wet. And sometimes when we go swimming, we totally swim in the water. And then there’s the sponge which is completely soaked with water …. Yes, there are differences in how close the Holy Spirit is to us. The Bible says: Be filled with the Spirit!
Thank you, Heavenly Father, for Your Spirit! He is also watching about my life and wants to make something wonderful of it. Please, send me the fullness of your Spirit! For where your mind is, there is life, joy and freedom.
