Jesus alone – 2020.01.18

„Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they shall be satisfied.
Bless are the merciful,
for they shall receive mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
Mathew 5, 3-10

Who does this description apply to? Yes, Jesus, and only Jesus! I can manage all this only a little bit, but HE is everything in person! Jesus, the center of our faith, the center of life, the center of love, around Him the universe revolves.
HE was poor before God, because HE left heaven and left everything divine behind to be completely human and to live our lives. He could not do anything by Himself; He was always in contact with the Father and asked what to do. God accomplished what Jesus said.
HE was sad. Yes, full of sorrow for Jerusalem and the whole country. For He saw where men will end if they do not bend their knees. If they do not accept Him, if they go their own ways …. HE saw it will be terrible. Full of love He wept over the lost.
HE could not use violence, not even to free Himself from the cross. Only against the real enemy He used violence. But against us human beings He did not lift a little finger to condemn or punish us. HE is gentle, patient, merciful and full of compassion.

Oh, Lord! You are so gentle, so patient, so merciful, so full of joy and sorrow, – how great You are, so all-embracing, so all-pervading! I worship You, for You are the One who loves me so much!
